that's my point. it's going to take A LOT OF GAMES for him to get back where he was. did u see how poorly rose was playing? that was 10 games, yes, but it was obvious it was going to take him maybe even until the allstar break to get back into rhythm and he was in much better shape than Kobe.

Sometimes it does. Numbers can be misleading with any player. Advanced metrics are an improvement but even theyre not perfect. For instance Lebron might have solid advanced metrics but still not quite the impact youd want. Kibe of course falls off a cliff when you use advanced metrics, but even that doesnt always demonstrate how truly replaceable his chucking was.


Basically, the eye test is critical.

it doesn't matter how determined he is. my point is that rose is 10 years younger and more athletic than kobe ever was and he STILL struggled. and that's 100% fine. any player is going to struggle for a while when he misses that much time. that's why it's so ridiculous to think kobe will put up the numbers you guys are hoping for at 36 years old.
