How much shit would LeBron get if he pulled a Jerry West style FMVP?
If LeBron is given FMVP while losing the NBA Finals, how much shit would he get? How many people would try to use it as a positive thing to pull off a losing MVP? What do you think the chances are that the NBA gives him the award at this rate?

He would need to do much more in the series to earn a FMVP award.

That shit will never happen, regardless. If it did, the story would be that the award lost all credibility.

Difference is West averaged 40 points a game and played with a torn hamstring
Where as Lebron is scoring a little over half of that and struggles or goes scoreless in 4th quarters and has to sit when he gets cramps
If Lebron played like West did in losing efforts in the Finals, it would be obvious he was the greatest player on the planet. Jerry West by stats is probably the 2nd greatest Finals performer ever over the course of his career, second only to Michael Jordan.

Well the funny thing is, technically he is BY FAR the most valuable single player. San Antonio couod probably replace any one single person and still be competitive if not still win. Without Bran the series would have been a four game sweep with most games having to be ended prematurely by the mercy rule
This goes back to the same thin with regular MVP. Do you want to follow the technical wording of the award, or do you want to force a particular narrative ("we reward winning," "who did the most with the least" etc)

the only way this happens is if he scores 40+ in next 2 games and heat still loses in 6.
People would shit on him if he somehow played great in game 5 and 6 to force game 7 and has 25 points in game 7 while the heat loses. He might still get FMVP in the process but i don't think most people would give him any praise if he loses game 7.
The only way for him to get some praise is if heat loses in 6 while lebron scores 40+ in the next 2 games.
Anyways, it looks impossible that spurs would lose game 5 as it looks like Pop shows them game 6 highlights everyday.

The Heat would have struggled, mightily, and I mean mightily to score over 65 points without LeBron. I truly question if they even would have.

Lose credibility? But he IS the most valuable player in the finals. That doesnt change just bc his team doesnt win. Kevin Durant won the reg season MVP despite not winning the most games. Just bc bran isnt playing up to his own standards, hes still the most impactful individual out there.
The award has no credibility to begin with, but giving it to Bran wouldnt actually change anything abiut that. Technically he IS the finals' most valuable player.

And after the game, Russell and Havlicek went to visit Jerry West at his locker room. Russell just held Jerry's hand and Havliceck told Jerry "I love you."

And no single player on San Antonio has even come close. They are playing great team ball, with a bench that runs 8 people deep. G Poppovich is their MVP...second place is Kawhi Leonard, and he was non existent in the first two games (even for a non-star player).

You are talking out of your ass with that most valuable single player crap.
He clearly is. It doesn't mean he should win it, though.

Uh Lebron would have to force a game 7 solo and then lose it despite getting 30+

I feel like there's a real chance this happens depending on how the series closes out.
To be honest, I'm not sure if I can get behind it. Even if the best player is on the losing team (69 West, though he had better numbers obviously), I think it's setting a bad precedent if you give it to LeBron here, because he wouldn't be the first player in this situation.
In general though, ring counting is lame, but Finals MVP counting is even lamer, since we're talking about something awarded by the media, not won on the court. You can say it's about rewarding level of play, but why do we need an "award" for that, if we all watched the series?
Besides, Finals MVP lost all credibility in 1980:
