Kojima is a pretty big name. One of the few devs who managed to put his name out there to the point where his name will sell the game I think.

But if he goes to a company who will give him money to do his thing, I feel like he'll be okay. If he brings some of the main guys from his team, then we might be end for a treat. Like his lead programmers, sound effect guys, and his art work partner.

Rumor has it that the all of the main dudes in his studio are getting the boot (all of them are contractors now). I imagine if he can bring all of those guys, especially the ppl who worked on the Fox Engine, then he'll be okay. People will follow him.

And since Konami wants to focus on mobile games to spend low and get bigger profit, then I don't know if they'll make a proper Metal Gear. Look at the Silent Hill games after Team Silent left. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll find a studio to make MGS games good, but they have some big shoes to fill.

Only company that has what it takes to take over is Naughty Dog.

Will people follow Kojima for whatever his new team will make in the future or stick with Konami's MGS?

If he goes and makes something even remotely similar to what P.T./Silent Hills was to become, then I'll follow Kojima. I don't have any confidence in a Kojima-less MGS game.

The only games you really have to play before this are MGS3 and Peace Walker. They're the games with Big Boss.

You can get Peace Walker in the HD Collection. I really recommend playing it, despite it not being a numbered title. It's important to the story of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, as it shows the origin of MSF, Paz, Chico, and all the characters in GZ.

Metal gear games have the most ridiculous stories but that game-play and those boss-fights are top-tier. Grabbing this for sure.

Are any of them on PC? I always target PC #1 as I just prefer it over console.. I just own a PS2 and 360. I have an emulator for PSP too (roms are technically not legal but ehh, nobody gets in trouble over roms here lol).

I beat MGS 1, 2, and 3 (SnakeEater) thus far. What else am I missing that is essential for MGS fans to beat? I don't have a PS3 to play MGS4.

The Witcher 3 is sitting at 94 and Bloodborne at 92, they both will give Phantom Pain competition.

MGS is at 95 right now, but once all the reviews come out I'm expecting it to go down.

I'd be thrilled if it's actually better than Witcher 3 because that game is wicked good.
