Bird and Vogel Want To Re-sign Lance Stephenson.....

Larry Bird and Frank Vogel both hope the Indiana Pacers re-sign Lance Stephenson this summer.

Stephenson will be an unrestricted free agent.

"I think his ceiling is what he wants it to be," Bird said. "I always want him back. You just don't let talent like that walk away if you can help it. (Once he matures his) game is unlimited.

"He's a free agent and can do whatever he wants to do. When it comes down to it, it's up to him whether he wants to be here or not."

Bird said the team has discussed what it will cost to bring Stephenson back but has not determined what they will offer him yet.

You can't say that he's strictly confined to Indiana. He's an eccentric character who needs to mature but the talent is there and age is on his side. He'll surely fend offers in addition to Indy's.

Paul George can be that 25 6 and 5 player. Stephenson can be that 19 7 and 6 player

the boy has skills, but i still dont feel "lance ball" is conducive to winning basketball. However, if they develop a system where he can be a primary ball handler, but at the same time, can limit his over dribbling while improving ball movement, then he definitely can be something special.

the lack of ball movement really destroyed this team this post season

Of course a good pass-first PG could help change that, I guess that's what the draft is for though.
