Quite honestly, Kobe had one of the worst supporting casts of all time for a b2b champion and a run of three straight finals.

Not only did Kobe prove he could win without Shaq, he proved he could win without a legit superstar.

I hope the haters only say this for fun, just to mess with the stans, but don't really believe that. Even if I happened to hate Kobe, I would know in the back of my mind that it wasn't rape.

Snitching, Yeah, guilty as hell. Was a bitch move

Not a good topic to brag about because Kobe wouldn't have 2 Finals MVP is wasn't for some of those names bailing him multiple time. Off misses, and I even remember Kobe demanding the ball from Fisher, and Fisher basically brushing him off because kobe was shooting them out of the game, and Fisher hitting a clutch shot. I dislike Fisher, but had to respect him for recognizing the situation and not caring that it's Kobe.

This is the new Kobe stan argument, when in reality the big complaint during those years was how stack his team was. Amazing how things change. The idiots simplify by how big the name is. Doesn't sound like a big name, scrub team. Pau is playing like shit today, he was a scrub then. Simplistic logic.

Kirby fans logic. " Lamar Odom crack addict"

I wasn't aware he was a crack addict during the championships.

I won't go into the rest as there is no need to feed the trolls.

Half the people in this thread weren't around for the '08-'10 seasons. How can anyone say those were some of the worst championship teams ever? Apparently a 20/11/3/2 Pau Gasol is not a superstar.

Gasol, Odom and Bynum were three of the most talented frontcourt players in the league. 6-10 and over, with a versatile skillset and great instincts. All three players, individually, had tools to absolutely dominate their position, each in their own way. Their shortcomings up to that point were all mental. (The steadiest, most professional of the three was Gasol, but he wasn't tough/assertive enough at times)

Kobe, too, is one of the most talented players in history, whose mental outlook sometimes prevented him from translating his otherwordly skills into winning basketball.

And then you have another brilliant headcase in Ron Artest...

If anything, the real underrated one is Phil Jackson, who figured out a way to bring the best out of all this talent.

Not coincidentally, the only season the Lakers missed the playoffs was when Jackson left. In 2006, when he came back, they had a similarly awful roster as in 2005 yet almost made it to the second round. And ever since he's left, the Lakers have failed to make any real noise in the league, even with a great collection of individual players like they had in 2013. Yet I hardly ever see him mentioned as the reason behind the Lakers success. Same thing with Jordan and the Bulls...
