BS "fact" of the day. I don't know where you got that info from. Everything I've read indicates there is intense pain.

Look it up yourself when its a complete tear of the tendon there little to no pain because the tendon is not connected to any nerves.

Symptoms of a complete achilles tendon rupture include a sudden sharp pain in the achilles tendon which is often described as if being physically struck by an object or implement.

Not to mention Kobe looked to be in quite a bit of pain

Symptoms of an Achilles tendon injury are:

Pain along the back of your foot and above your heel, especially when stretching your ankle or standing on your toes. In tendinitis, pain may be mild and worsen gradually. If you rupture the tendon, pain can be abrupt and severe.
    Tenderness
    Swelling
    Stiffness
Hearing a snapping or popping noise during the injury
Difficulty flexing your foot or pointing your toes (in complete tears of the tendon)

not to mention, you literally cannot bend your foot because there is nothing attached to it to make it move.

That's not what the thread is about though. The thread is about the players immediate reactions to injuries.
