i have a bit of an issue with Parker being on the French team ... he has a dutch mum, american dad and was born in Belgium ... nothing French about that except for the "grew up there" part (which admittedly isn't a small factor but still ... )

you're right. Never bothered to look up his ethnicity actually. Any time I thought of French NBA players, he's the first thing that came to mind so I automatically assumed he was 100% French

me too at first and probably nearly all NBA fans who are aware of him think the same way ... I don't think he is in any rush to announce that he is not French-born given how much luck he's having with the ladies over there sounds waaayyy better to say your'e French and speak French than to say you were born in Belgium and speak Dutch

Some players become synonymous with the country they play for. Dirk for Germany. Ginobili for Argentina. Most people think of Tony Parker when they hear the words "French basketball". Kinda funny considering his ethnicity is actually African American and Dutch.

It's only a matter of time until Canadians become the second highest demographic in the NBA. There's at least 3-4 that will be drafted every year...just some of the guys in the pipeline off the top of my head:

Potential first round picks in the next two years:
    Andrew Wiggins
    Tyler Ennis
    Trey Lyles
    Nik Stauskas
    Dwight Powell
    Olivier Hanlan

    Potential second rounders:
    Melvin Ejim
    Dyshawn Pierre
    Kyle Wiltjer
    Jordan Bachynski
    Khem Birch
    Kevin Pangos

Australia has some studs coming up too - Dante Exum, Ben Simmons, Thon Maker and to a lesser degree Mangok Mathiang
