Kobe's 2005/2006 season probably gets underrated. That team had no business winning 45 games in the competitive West. As for the playoffs the better team won plain and simple. If the 1st round was still the 5 game format we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Those guys would have KILLED for a Lamar Odom.
Did you watch the Lakers during that time? Serious question. LO was as inconsistent as they came. He would put up good games and disappear other games. They struggled bc they wanted Odom to be a true #2 option and he wasnt. They only started to win titles when he became the 3rd/4th option. He had a solid series but he was not this monster you speak of.

What size are you talking about? Kwame and Odom? Kwame was a liability on offense. He was a big athletic guy no doubt but he was not a very good player at all.

Look at their roster. Smush Parker, Luke Walton and Kwame brown playing 35+ mpg in the ****en playoffs. Are you going to tell me that's not a weak roster? Point is, Lakers were lucky to be up 3-1. Its 2-2 without a game winner by Kobe. They were severely outclassed and honestly exceeded all expectations winning those games.

Being the great warrior that he is, Kobe will not make an excuse. He did not get it done that year, especially being up 3-1. He still has five rings.

The Suns were just the better team in the end. One individual is not solely responsible for the outcome of an entire playoffs series. Especially when it's seven games. Crazy, I know.
