I'm by no means a Kobe fan, I even strongly dislike Kobe, but you guys are so delusional. Kobe makes the organization A LOT more money than that 48.5 mil contract he got.

Lakers aren't what they are today just because of Kobe. He's one legend among many that built up that franchise. It's undeniable his selfishness is hurting the team's flexibility, but the blame is on both the management and Kobe.

You sound like a clown bro.
The dude was talking about the bread, not impact on the Franchises legacy. (which was here before and will still be here after Kobe's gone)
Shaq left in 04-5 , who the hell has been putting asses in the seats since then? Not Magic, Not Kareem , Not Jerry West.
This era's definition of flexibility is 4 All-Star's Teaming up. Not everyone is the Heat.
The Lakers can still sign one max FA. Now it's up to management to put their "plans" in play because they offered the contract, with the assumption they already knew what they'd do with the rest of the Cap.
Funny part about all of this is Kobe did take a phucking paycut.
Just because it's not enough to colude Melo AND Love he's the selfish one? lol.
No such thing as competition in this league anymore, you guys wanna see all of the NBA's best on the same Teams.

You do know that Kobe is mad because the Lakers gave away Steve Blake for nothing right?

Based on what, what are your facts?
If Kobe wasn't eating up 30 mill this year, the Lakers franchise would have their pick of the best players in the world over the next couple of years... Durant, Melo, Lebron whoever. They are the best franchise, so they would have a big chance of getting one of these guys.
A top 5 player like them would produce on the court, and off the court in shirt sales etc... considering they would gain access to the millions of laker fans.
This Idea that a washed up Kobe is more marketable than a Lebron, Durant or Melo is ridiculous.
Its a chitty contract, however you want to look at it.

He seems more interested in tooting his own horn and taking contested fadeaways than the he is in the team winning.

what does his current contract have to do with anything? he signed that contract back in 2010
and the idea may sound absurd but it's true. maybe you're just out of touch with the real world. just look at this place. dude's only played 6 games and people are still on his dick one way or another.

It doesn't sound absurd... I know full well that Kobe may bring in 30 mill shirt sales etc. But I also know that any top 10 player in the world, would bring in that on a franchise like LA... PLUS be productive on the court, you know be contenders again, therefore keeping the Lakers franchise relevent and making them more money.
So that 30 mill Kobe gets, stops them getting a top 5-10 player... stops them contending and stop them being relevant. and then he bitches about management
