Don't see it doable unless he takes a decent sized pay cut.
Rose: 18.8m
Boozer: 16.8m
Noah: 13.1m
48.7M with only 3 contracts. Salary cap is 58.6m. Bulls have 7 players locked in for 63M next season. They'd have to amnesty Rose or Boozer to make it happen.
He gives them more options on offense, but their defense also takes a step back since you'd now have 2 sieves in Boozer/Melo. You can cover up 1 sieve. 2 will get consistently exposed. Can imagine Lebron and KD absolutely feasting when those 2 are on the floor.
All in all, Melo's addition still doesn't make Chicago an elite team. Deng was a much better fit.

He DOES have a low IQ and lacks discipline. Right now hes the most overrated player in the game. The Bulls are a TEAM and melo plays like an individual. He wouldnt actually improve them, just chanele their dynamic. It wouldnt be them plus him, it would be him instead of them. Same results.
The knicks lose games because they suck. Melo would definitely contend with a good defensive and rebounding team, he is that good offensively. The bulls need exactly what melo brings and in turn the bulls provide exactly what melo needs.

Nope. With a healthy Rose (from 2010) and if they kept Deng... then yes.

Personally, I thought the circumstances surrounding the LeBron James situation were unique, largely due to how special I viewed him as a basketball player. I don't think there's been any NBA player on his level since at least 2006, and he's one of the best of all-time.
I think many stars could team up and still struggle to compete for a championship. But I thought LeBron James was so good (good enough to make Cleveland an elite championship contending team for many years) that if he were to have teamed up with multiple dream teamers (as he did), championships would become foregone conclusions, whether the team played up to their own potential or not.
James is special, and my little personal NBA narrative preference was for him to win (or attempt to win) as he was already trying to do. He took the cards he was dealt, maximized them, dominated, and nearly led his own squad to the promised land on multiple occasions, as if it were to say, "I'm good enough to make any team a contender, because I play the right way and I'm unstoppable." Trading that in for insane overkill and transforming into a mega overdog was at odds with what I previously liked about James most.
To put it succinctly, I'm not sure there's any other players who could team up right now and make it as sure of a bet as LeBron James teaming up with two dream teamers.
