Re: 2012-2013: Lebron James vs. Kobe Bryant: Jump Shooting and Finishing
the defense dares lebron to shoot beyond 15 feet. they don't even guard him
while kobe has 1-2 guys in his face every second he passes half court
its like the their 3 point percentages. same thing. kobe takes probably 90% of his threes with a defender on him. while james is much more like mj and rarely takes a defended three
kobe knows he can make around the same percentage as those other 2 guys with pressure on him
while james and mj would shoot 25% if they had the kind of looks kobe takes on the regular from distance

This is about the only time I'll ever agree with you.

Then it should be easier for Kobe to drive and finish at the rim.

Re: 2012-2013: Lebron James vs. Kobe Bryant: Jump Shooting and Finishing
Kobe could be such an efficient scorer if he improved his shot selection. He's right there with Lebron in almost every category except 3's and finishing at the rim. He's better in a lot of other categories too.
The problem is, Kobe isn't focused on efficiency.

That's actually a good knowledgeable post.

06 LeBron alone was a better player than Kobe was at anytime in his prime.

What? How did you get from having two defenders on you to getting to the rim easily? Do you know how basketball works?

His point was that if defenders peess up on you it is harder to make jumpers but it makes it easier to drive past them.

Re: 2012-2013: Lebron James vs. Kobe Bryant: Jump Shooting and Finishing
3 PT number a little bit unreliable
as there's a good stretch of games (10 game?) where in total kobe shoot like 1/20? from 3, because he took less 3 (lakers was in tight spot, so he play it safe, attakin the rim like crazy) and only take bail out, last second shot, end of quarter 3PT (which is rarely be taken by today star)
but yeah LBJ improve his shooting a lot after his summer camp with durant

Which is precisely why MJ and James are better more consistent offensive weapons. They don't take dumb shots bailing the defense out by shooting idiotic "defended three pointers" .... As if that's some badge of honor to be proud of shooting selfish dumb low percentage shots equating to basically a turnover.

I always love how Kobe fans love to prop him up with the "Best At taking contested shots" title. Its like giving an award to quarterbacks for being the best at throwing double coverage. Its not the right play to make, end of story. Thank God he was able to find a frontcourt to bail him out his whole career

Thank God Lebron found a place to take his talents too.
