First off, you made half of it up, you have no idea what Pat Riley did or didn't do, and there's more evidence pointing to the option that Bosh Wade & James colluded and had planned this out or at least thought of the idea of joining forces a long time ago, the way Wade & James set their contracts up to expire at the same time, Lebron changing his # to and then going to the only team in the league besides CHI that has #23 retired.

Secondly, Miami would have had to spend that extra cap space to fill out the rest of their roster after Wade & Bosh.

Third. Lebron could have manned up & stuck with his b2b 60+ win favorite for 2 years to make the finals team and recruited somebody to join HIS team.

Instead, Lebron chose to join somebody else's team, and the player he just so happened to choose to join had already won a title as the man of his team and was sporting a FMVP before Lebron had even reached the finals..
First, lets accept that James Wade and Bosh colluded. Still doesn't change the fact on the morning of his announcement Wade and Bosh were on the same team with enough cap space to sign yet another franchise player.

You say the Heat would have fill out their roster. There would be nothing stopping Riley from doing what New York did with Carmelo.

Sign Amare..."fill out the roster" and still sign/wait out for Melo.

Again, you're Lebron what exactly would you do?

By the way, this nonsense about contract expiring...did Amare, Joe Johnson, and Boozer collude too? They're contracts expired at the same time? The entire 2003 draft class signed the same contracts.

It had nothing to do with colluding. They were all drafted at the same time, under the same CBA rules, all franchise players. Of course they sighed the same types of deals. Any agent worth is salt is telling his client to sign the exact same contract.

Are all the NFL players drafted in the last year colluding as well? The class of 2011 all have similar contacts as well.

It does not really matter when their contracts expire. The point is that Riley had enough room to sign another franchise player. Be it in summer of 2010, 2011, or 2012. There were a number of potential free agents in 2010 that Riley could have targeted that were set to become free agents in the upcoming years.

For two and three seasons BEFORE Lebron, NYC, CHI, MIA, and NJ didn't spend cap space. Did they not field teams prior to the summer of 2010?

What exactly stops the Heat, after signing Wade and Bosh from managing their cap space for a swing at Deron Williams?

Heats team defense is fluttering Jennings and lebron is shutting down Ellis. Early in playoffs with plenty of time for Bosh and Wade to step it up but people need to stop acting like LeBron is playing with the best players left in the playoffs.

The Knicks were able to sign Amare & then wait trade for Melo because they already had enough players to fit a roster under contract when they signed Amare, If Miami would have only signed Wade & Bosh they would have needed the rest of that cap to fill out the roster & or they would have spent a good sum of it on a minor 3rd piece to compliment Wade & Bosh.

This spin you try to put on things to make it sound like Lebron was forced into joining the HEAT is pretty pathetic

Also, Wade & Lebron made sure when they signed their first max deals with CLE & MIAMI to have an opt out clause for the same year, this is well known and people were curious about it at the time.

Not his fault, but joining and forming a superteam and the competition not healthy doesn't help him one bit.

stop making yourself look like such a dumbass, those teams were specifically only acquiring contracts that would expire in 2010, when they signed or traded for a player they made sure the contract would expire in 2010.

Do you really think that Riley would sign Bosh & Wade to just stall the next couple of years only signing players to 1 year contracts on the hopes of signing D will 2 years down the road

NO! If they would have signed Bosh & Wade they wouldn't have been looking to save any cap space they would have been looking to spend that cap space in hopes of putting a Championship team together for that year.

ROFL I can already see the Lebron carried this team by himself stories beginning to form if the Heat win. Wade and Bosh were trash while he battled through the tough east with so many missing players

How would you feel about, say, Shaq's 2001 Championship if:

Chris Webber was out, Tim Duncan was out, and Allen Iverson was out?
