He doesn't necessarily have to play for another team. Even if contract gets picked up, he'll still be recovering from injury. This is a serious injury. Wouldn't be surprised if sits out all of next season. Then he can prepare for 2014 season, resign with Lakers, and end career on own terms.

    Kobe is not getting amnestied

but if he did, I would be surprised to see him return with the Lakers. That would be very disrespectful to his legacy and I don't see how that wont be hurtful to Kobe. After all he gave, they are gonna force him to play in Cha(trust me Kobe is gonna play the second he is able to, even if it is in Cha but he wont enjoy it).

Then the Lakers are gonna sign him back after forcing him to play on some terrible team for 4-6 months. If he were ever amnestied, I think there is a better chance he would be in Dal, SAS, Chi, NYK, or Bos than LAL.

LOL yeah amnesty Kobe if you want a full scale riot in front of staples center posters on this board aren't too bright. Even if you amnestied Kobe they'd be a team to pick him up off waivers just to troll the Lakers. This move makes no sense unless you know the guy is never going to play again.

Absolutely no chance this will happen. There will be too much of a backlash from the Laker fanbase.

Not sure if it's at all possible, but if Kobe did get amnestied I'd give anything for the Clippers or Boston to pick him up, just to troll the Lakers

I think he'd go to the Knicks or Bulls if he were to leave LA.

Seems like it's a no brainer for the Lakers. Below factors were posted by ESPN.

    No Kobe amnesty? Fair enough
It means that Howard = resign, Nash = retirement, Pau = traded.
