    Default Kobe being amnestied?

Seems logical right now, save tax money and he'll resign once he is back?

If he's amnestied, teams under the salary cap can pick him up off waivers. Kobe to Bobcats?

He can't say no to teams? I'm not sure how amnesty works.

Once he's amnestied, teams under the salary cap bid for kobe.

For example, if bobcats bid $5million and they win, they pay kobe $5 million next year while lakers pay $25million (since his salary is ~$30 million). He cant leave unless he sets up a buyout with them, but I doubt they would want to buyout kobe if they can keep him for only $5 million.

Lakers/Kobe could try the Carrier ending Waiver, but he wouldn't be able to play till 14/15 season.

Look up the situation with Darius Miles to understand the Career ending Waiver better.

Nah, blazers just used the amnesty clause on Broy and no one put a bid to get him because they felt he wasn't gonna come back.

You can recover from torn Achilles within 8 months.
Chauncey had a torn Achilles in February and came back around October, but he had to sit because of other nagging injures to the groin & back.

Kobe can be back as soon as December? Any bottom feeder team would pick him up even if its for a couple million. They could earn a lot from Kobe merchandise/jerseys etc.

It's very probable now that Lakers will amnesty Kobe.

As a Laker fan, I believe management will do things right : swallow their tears, and amnesty Kobe with his blessing.

No one will claim and injured guy of the waivers, and it would cause uproar if it does happen.

Kobe will still be paid 30m, and he'll just return when he feel he's healthy again

Funny thing is in a fantasy hypothetical event that the Lakers amnestied Kobe and teams under the cap will go for him, he'd make some team serious dough with the potential of Kobe suiting up for that team.

They will lie to the fans and star printing jersey with Bryant's name to get a buzz going only to see him go back to the Lakers...

All of this without ever suiting up to play.
