Are Derrick Rose's shoes poorly designed? Or cursed?
Horrific shit seems to happen to players who wear them - is it just poor design? A curse? Or mere coincidence?

Re: Are Derrick Rose's shoes poorly designed? Or cursed?
He was damn durable in 2011, barely missing any games even though he got hit a ton.
In 2012 he started wearing those new crappy adizeros or whatever and started rolling his ankle over and over. Then had toe, back, knee issues. He kept wearing them even though he kept injuring himself.
They are just designed terribly.

Poor design.
Stupid heel region goes inward providing a narrower base of support.

Good college starter
Re: Are Derrick Rose's shoes poorly designed? Or cursed?
I think it's partly a show of how fuzzy strength training for sports has become. "Complex & sport-specific" movement has made lots of people too weak to handle the force that even they produce. I forgot who said it but supposedly ever since kids started specializing in sports early and all these gimmicks of using machines and implements from the sports itself within the strength training regimen (not the sport-skill training), they've gotten weaker (in terms of how much weight they can put up) and more susceptible to injury. And I own in at least one shoe of his from each generation and I've had no problems whatsoever with them. Albeit, I don't play on a competitive level equal to that of the NBA, I still go at it with some college guys, ex-varsity players, and other guys trying to make the local leagues here. I will say though that the playing feel has gotten somewhat worse ever since they scrapped the PureMotion tech that was on the shoe in the OP and the successor of it.

Adidas is like socialism in the US.
It's a way to sabotage American players so euro ballers can rule the basketball world.

Adidas basketball shoes have always been absolute crap.

Re: Are Derrick Rose's shoes poorly designed? Or cursed?
Whole generations wore sneakers in the cloth converse style. Blaming the shoe whenever an athlete gets hurt doesn't make sense. At least you should be showing exactly how those shoes contributed or failed to protect in a way another brand would from Rose's ACL tear. The brand does not exist that hasn't had a player injured.

So much big injuries for Adidas athletes recently. Rose, Rubio, Shumpert, RG3, all ACL injuries now this dude snaps his legs in half while wearing Adidas
