A. I never idolized Obama
B. You might not like the laws or judicial rulings that allow this, but it's pretty clear the program is legal.
C. Giving your earlier comments, I don't think you understand the difference between this and wiretapping.

I don't subscribe to team red/blue paradigms. I'll call out whoever abuses power, creates double-standards, and physically roll my eyes when people say things like right-wing or left-wing. But whatever, if you want to believe one side abuses power better than the other side, then have at it. (note: this comment isn't directly aimed at anyone, despite using a quote.)

He knows what it is. But chooses to use the widest possible interpretations to fit his agenda. All hail despotism! They know what is best!

To me those are the prerequisite to having a rational debate on this.

This gave me a chuckle. You out of all people staying out of a political topic... and that's the reason why? I've seen you post pages and pages on topics relating to foreign policy, economics, healthcare, etc., citing/quoting books and providing extensive links to sources. Yet when it comes to this topic you can't even express your own opinion. Responding just on the basis of the legality of the issue. I mean really? It's a lot deeper than that. Legal or not, people are upset at it for much deeper reasons.
When people are online posting on a casual forum, they aren't typically expecting some formal, tightly-controlled, comprehensive debate. If anything, all they can realistically expect is for someone to post their opinion/view on a subject and back that up with some reasonable logic and/or facts. On the other hand, you are the only poster I can recall who write posts like the Obama administration has a gun behind your back... or that Jay Carney made an account and is posting on ISH. Honestly, that's how it comes off like. Do you have an opinion of your own? Or is it just whatever the party says backed up by whatever blog you are jocking on at the moment? No one really cares about that stuff because we can all do a search through Google in like 5 seconds and read it on our own. The point is that it's not really you who is saying it, nor does it seem like your genuine & honest opinion/view.
If you don't want to post about it that's fine, not like anybody should feel obligated to. But it's pretty pompous to make the excuse that no one really understands the topic at your level, so thus, not deserving of your input. Do you have that same feeling towards Edward Snowden? Is he just some libertarian twerp who doesn't understand that it's been deemed legal? Or maybe he is on to something and has legitimate concerns?

Re: The BigAss 2nd term thread
Obama last week - "nobody is listening to your phone calls"
NSA today - "security analysts can listen to domestic phone calls without a warrant"
If Nixon resigned over watergate, Obama should resign over this. Nixon spied on the democratic party, Obama is spying on the entire planet. I hate to agree with the New York Times, but the administration truly has lost all credibility.
