I don't get Thunder fans obsession with this though. IMO when you inflate a players height it actually works against them. If we are going to say he's a legit 7 footer then we can ask why he's not rebounding more than 7 per game etc. Let him stay at his true height of 6'10 ish and leave it alone.

Defense, rebounding, passing, spacing.

You only get to take so many shots in a game, and the majority of them should be taken by Kobe, Durant, Lebron, Melo, etc. Everyone else has to contribute in other ways, and there aren't a lot of perimeter players who can contribute more without scoring than Iguodala.

Oh... MASH has talked about the Thunder a lot so think he's a fan? Also Joyner has brought this crap up enough times. Obviously Durant is a bit taller than 6'9 he got drafted at.... but 6'10 is more accurate than 7 feet tall and if he is 6'10 that's still tall as FU** for a SF let alone with his quickness, athleticism etc. If you add 1-2 inches it doesn't become any more or less impressive IMO.

Because Howard, Bosh, Rose, and Wade are hurt. Who else would you rather have? It's not like he a first choice or plan A guy. In fact, he was closer to a plan E or F guy since it took four other players being injured to get him and Harden on the team.

Durant isn't 7 feet in any way, not even in shoes. Duncan was a measured legit 6'11" without shoes when he was drafted, and Durant definitely isn't as tall as Duncan.

You have Durant's measurement of 6'9" without shoes from when he was just 3 months shy of his 19th birthday. You're usually pretty much done growing by then, I'm not sure about guys who are freakishly tall to begin with like Durant, but it doesn't seem like NBA players grow much after they're drafted.

Durant himself said prior to the 2010-2011 season that he was 6'9 1/2" without shoes and 6'11" with shoes. I'd take his word for it, and he was definitely grown by then at 22 years old.

So that, along with the official measurement seems a lot more reliable than pictures which vary depending on posture and angles.

It explains why some insist he's 6'11" since a lot of NBA players seem to be listed around their height in shoes.
