Lebron finished out his contract and left. The Decision was stupid, but the Dwightmare and MeloDrama were huge regular season distractions. Lebron leaving was brought up a lot in Cleveland, but they were winning 60+ games the last two seasons. Dwight and Melo both wanted out before mid-season

Melo left Denver with a solid core.
Dwight will leave Magic with young assets.

Dwight has been doing this shit for 2 years. Demanding trades, flip flopping on where he wants to go, getting coaches fired. It's a mess.

Dont act like Mo fcking Williams was not the best teammate Lebron had in 7 years in Cleveland. Their season of 19-63 after Lebron went tells how shitty they were. There is no player who would have stayed on that team. I wonder why Lebron has not asked for trade or smt like that.
"Good role players" are surely not enough to keep "once in 20 years talent" like Lebron.

Those role players usually played like trash in the playoffs.

Joke of a question. Dwight is the biggest whiner/crybaby douche ever. LeBron played out every year of his contract that was required of him without a single peep or mention of frustration with what was obviously a pathetic front office. Never once heard a mention of LeBron being a bad teammate or future free agency affecting the team locker room/games etc.

Melo was kind of bad, at least worse than LeBron, but not Dwight bad.

Dwight goes from having a "list" of 3 teams to then eliminating 2 of those "list teams" and b*tching to be traded to the one team that has no assets/cap space (therefore being a useless trade partner from Orlando's perspective), all months after, by his own will, choosing to opt into his contract which would require him playing an extra year for the Magic. The dude opts in, apologizes to fans, talks about loyalty and then literally 3 months later cries for a trade when he could have just left without all the commotion if he had not opted in.

    This.

It seemed like he made a deal that he would stay if they fired SVG. That's what happened but now he still wants to leave. The guy is a moron.

Melo actually did good by the Nuggets... They got a ton of talent back..

LeBron was in a different situation, lets not get into the decision etc, he played out his contract and moved on. Didnt owe the Cavs any more than that, he wasnt the fu*king GM

Dwight What an idiot. Probably couldnt have handled this any worse if he tried!!!

I don't really think what Melo did was bad. He didn't want to stay in Denver, Denver wanted to know before they couldn't trade him, and Melo wasn't willing to committ to an extension to anywhere but New York and no team would trade for him if it wasn't for that. What exactly was he supposed to do? He tried to keep it as private as possible, and he didn't go back and forth and tell the fans he loved Denver the way Lebron said he loved Cleveland and Howard said he loved Orlando. He didn't seem to care about what fans would think unlike Howard. Really, given what Melo wanted, I don't see how he could've acted any different in that situation.

I completely agree with you. Players are allowed to leave when their contracts are up and should not be penalized for being truthful with a team when it presses him to make a commitment that he is not contractually obligated to make.

And to answer the OP's question the worst by far is the Dwight situation. Everyday I log on here just hoping he gets traded soon so we can talk about something else.

Yea exactly. I thought it was funny when people would criticize him that he was "forcing" his way too New York and making it so hard for Denver to make the best trade possible because he wouldn't promise an extension with any other team. Well, what did they expect him to do? Committ the next 4 years of his life to a team and city he didn't want to go to?

Lebron and Howard deserve criticism cause the Decision show was just completely unnecessary and Howard's opting in was a complete dumbass move that dragged this story alot longer then it needed to be.

Dwight's situation is Orlando's fault. He's told them that he doesn't want to be there anymore, and they can't accept it. They keep begging him to stay, even demanding that he opt into his final year, or else they will trade him somewhere that he doesn't want to go.

Athletes don't owe teams their entire lives. They owe the teams the time specified by the contract. It seems to only be in basketball where teams throw absolute shit fits when a player's contract is up and he wants to leave. St Louis didn't threaten to trade Albert Pujols to KC in his last year. They got the most out of him, and won a World Series in his final year there.
