False actually, as Bosh is basically the centre.

Who really cares about second rounders. Most second rounders end up being bad. Knicks need to win now and Camby makes them more competitive immediately. Also, Jordan and Douglas suck. I will miss Jorts though.

no point in even watching the draft anymore w/ the way the Knicks throw away draft picks...lol.

But, this is a great depth signing, Camby brings top-notch shot-blocking, and provides another legit interior presence to spell Chandler when he needs it. Roster is already better.

Anyone know where this leaves us with salary and how many roster spots we need to fill. Us paying Douglas, does that mean we pay him and he counts to Houston's cap, yeah?

    Bagel?

What the hell did New York just give up for a 38 year old reserve center?!! Is this for real?

Good pickup for NY. Good move for Houston too, decent load for a guy who was leaving anyways. Don't even have to pay for Douglas either.
Did you read what they gave up to get an old backup centre? It's a terrible pickup. He would be a non-factor against Brooklyn and a liability against the heat.
He was a great pickup at a certain price. This is a terrible transaction for NY.

If reports are correct, Knicks keep Gadzuric and could do another s/t for ~$2 mil.

To meet the NBAs trade rules.

They can't give Camby 13/2 and have enough filler guys to make the salaries match in a sign and trade. But they can give Camby 13/3 realizing that last year is a token year where he'll probably not contribute.

They gave up 2nd round picks and a couple filler players they really needed a backup for Chandler

Probably gave up too much. Camby is still a good piece tho. Good move by NY IMO.

Douglas was traded, so he counts against Houston's cap. Knicks are simply giving money to Houston to pay his salary.

Well we have no cap space. Kidd is getting the mini-MLE. So really its going to be alot of minimum salary guys.

    Melo
    Amare
    Chandler
    Lin (Knicks will match)
    Shumpert
    Novak (just signed)
    Camby
    Kidd
    JR Smith (probably.....)
    James White (minimum contract....)
    Jeffries (probably.....)

That would be 11 spots taken so far, unless I missed someone. They'll add at least 2 more, maybe 3.
