I think it was very pivotal for me to get a big in the first round. With a shallow talent pool and the best guard available (in my eyes that's Tracy McGrady) taken, a big is important.

While this season JO is only around 12/10/3/70def, he becomes much better in the coming seasons.

I've never done a seasonal WIF draft like this so I'm not sure how to equate defensive ratings into my selections. There are very few players with high defensive ratings.

That's true, defensive ratings seem to differentiate between players from year-to-year. I thought it would make a bit more of a different draft experience without a couple of the big names.

    It's def. different.

I'm still kind of annoyed I wasn't active enough on insidehoops when there would be a draft like this at the end of every regular season. Those always looked to be very enjoyable.

I actually enjoy this player pool because it forces you to really think about the type of team you want to build. You can't just throw a bunch of talent together, you have to put guys together who will work.

WIF doesn't really mimic real life. Since it's a computer simulation it can't take into account personalities. But they do the best job I've seen with their numbers. So it's fun to try to put together teams on that site. (Maybe the only thing more fun is doing it in 2K since they have their tendency ratings too).

With this pool we will have teams that will feature: 1 superstar if you had a high pick, then a couple good players, then role players. OR a few good players and some role players if you had a lower pick. Just like how it is. It's fun.
