I would lose all respect if Ray joins the Heat. You already got 1 ring. Why are you just "betraying" the Celtics just for ring chasing?

If Ray does join, then that's a huge boost for the Heat. Look for him to shoot nearly 50% from 3. Miami repeats with or without Ray. They won't 3peat but they will repeat.

How is he betraying the Celtics. I'm a Celtics fan and even I know Ray isn't happy with the organization. You are trying to say he's betraying the Celtics by going to the Heat when they are the ones that nearly traded him mid season!? It was the Grizzlies that backed out too...not the Celtics. He was pissed off too by all accounts before he found out the deal fell through. The Celtics can't pay him what he's worth and they showed NO LOYALTY TO HIM and I say this AS A CELTICS FAN. He has no reason to have any kind of loyalty to the Celtics. No player that's going to come into their next season at 37 is going to sign with a non contender. It's not as if ray is useless like Gary Payton was on the 2006 Heat either...he can still ball...but the clock is ticking and he has every right to join a contender and go out on top if he feels like it.

As a Celtics fan I'm glad we had Ray Allen for the five years we did. He was honestly the real FMVP and came up big in so many situations. I don't know why fans can't just be happy with what they got from a player and go on these little piss fits about loyalty. Ray Allen at this point in his career deserves to go play where he pleases and shouldn't have to hear bullshit about it. The Celtics rarely even used him at this full capacity anyway this past season. The screens they "tried" to set for him to get a good look were mostly atrocious eve before he had issues with the bone spurs in in his ankles.

As much as I love Celtics, I really think Allen has gotten too much shitfaced on from fans and media. He really did a lot in those 5 years for us and in case he actually signs with Miami I hope he does not get booed in TD Garden. With LeBron penetrating he would probably really average 50%+ from down town :)

Since when is it a bad thing to want to surround yourself with superior talent? Ray Allen is no superstar at this stage but he's a damn good role player and a terrific shooter who could live off of James' and Wade's double teams. If it can make their team better, then why shouldn't he want it?

We only really argued about LeBron vs. Wade though not anything else that I remember. We both know how the LeBron vs. Wade argument worked out though eh . Seriously though I don't like the Heat, and I can't stress that enough. I am no longer a fan of a team, just LeBron. That obviously means that I want the Heat to succeed though.
