The NBA has officially given up on the dunk contest when they changed it to only 1 round and having the winner determined solely by the fans. They should just get rid of it completely or change it back to like it was. We already know that Lin is going to win the contest anyway because of fan voting.

There is really nobody that can revive the dunk contest today unless Lebron, Dwight, Griffin, Kobe, Wade, Durant, Rose participate..... Kobe/Wade/Durant not greatest dunkers.... but who wouldnt want to see this competition? It would be very entertaining....

chase can get up. has a 40 inch vertical...
george would be somewhere similar. plus he has a bit of dominique about him when he dunks.

derrick isn't quite the same leaper but he seems to have the best body control of the lot, so he might be able to pull off the most moves in the air for all we know.

i think it'll be good. not the best, but one of the better ones.

The guy who dunked further than ANYBODY in NBA history in an actual NBA game......... and while he dunked it there, he was still at rim level....

Now.... imagine what he can do with the freedom of dunkcontest, with freedom of not having 5 defenders around you?

Oh wait wait it was because at first, he thought Blake would be defending his contest title so he didn't want to make it a huge event where he'd get embarrassed in front of millions of fans. So right when Blake resorted to not defend his title this year, good ol LeBron comes out of nowhere and says he would consider it. Dude likes to take the easy way out, story of his life.
