How come? Simply taking the guy off the market, away from potential contender suitors, is a huge move in it's own right. If they amnesty somebody, they're still in the running for CP3. Seems like a great situation, and likely a preferred destination off waivers compared to some Billups' other potential options (Toronto, Minnesota, etc).

I can sort of see that, although I think that young core could benefit from some more veteran pieces. Bringing Butler in was a great start, and Billups can be a great floor general for the team. We'll see how it pans out. It's just nice to see the Clippers doing ANYTHING, really
