Those pieces are expensive though. I think the Magic want to reduce salary obligations. Not take on more.

Can you use the amnesty AND the stretch provision in the same year? Is it one or the other? How's that work, no one talks about the stretch.

i would be dissapointed if stern doesnt coc k block this trade
Deron Williams was a discount? Favors, Harris, 3rd overall pick + another 1st round pick for deron Williams who wasnt extended? Hmm

Re: Broussard: Howard Deal "Very close"
Surround them with good shooters, and we've got a serious contender. They better not keep K-Hump now, they need a PF that can shoot.
I'm a Bulls fan, but I'm happy to see the Nets possibly acquiring Howard. East is gonna be fun!!

I think the Nets actually overpaid. Favors is going to be a beast. 3 years from now, you are going to be saying "I can't believe we traded him away".
But they needed to do it, and if getting Deron means you also get Howard, then it was a great move.

Re: Broussard: Howard Deal "Very close"
Hope this goes through. I'd love to see a Deron-Dwight combo. Definitely a team I'd root for in the playoffs in the East since my Sixers aren't contending anytime soon.

They were going to give the same package+ two more draft picks for Carmelo Anthony. I think the Nets got a good deal.

Does it bother anyone else no one is reporting this except Broussard, who has the whole story?

I like this super team. No obnoxious fans. People will wish them well and Deron is a good dude.

These two would sell tickets in their new arena thats for sure.

Re: Broussard: Howard Deal "Very close"
A team with two very good players isn't a "super team" anyway in my book.
Especially when the two players were acquired over different seasons.
But I agree it will be fun to watch if they do get together.

Isn't Broussard usually wrong when he reports things? Who else has picked it up?
