Default Kobe Bryant against the Suns in the 2010 playoffs

Just kind of thought of how dominant Kobe was in this series. Game 6 in particular was amazing. Every time the Suns scored in the fourth quarter, Kobe would come right back and hit some ridiculous momentum-killing shot. Kobe flat out carried the Lakers in this series. They probably would have lost if not for his heroics.

    Game 1: 40/5/5
    Game 2: 21/5/13
    Game 3: 36/9/11
    Game 4: 38/7/10
    Game 5: 30/11/9
    Game 6: 37/6/2

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjZZ2e-wr5c

Reggie Miller on Kobe after game 6: "He showed tonight that he is truly the best player and closer in the league."

And before anyone says "lulz the Suns defense sux", no, this was not a defense coached by Mike "What's defense?" D'Antoni. The Suns had a very solid defense in 2010. Just watch the highlights. Kobe was hitting ridiculously hard shots throughout the series.

    Bow down to Lord Mamba

He was sick the entire playoffs:

    29-6-6-2-46% FG-57%TS
    18 30+ point games

And did on a busted knee, too.

    Great run.

I actually briefly summarized all of Kobe's shots in that series in another thread. I did so because some posters said Kobe went up against an easy defense:

    Game 1

    - Goes one on one with Dudley, makes a tough shot in the paint.
    - 3 pointer, contested by J-Rich
    - Ridiculous fall away shot by Kobe, that's impossible to guard
    - Mid range, contested by Amar'e
    - Literally hits over a double team of G-Hill and J-Rich, ridiculous shot
    - Great split on the screen by Kobe, bad defense there, makes a tough floater
    - 3 pointer, late contest by Nash
    - Mid range shot, good defense by G-Hill
    - Step back shot, contest by Dudley
    - Great back door play by Kobe and 1, poor defense and foul on Frye
    - Open court lay up on a turnover, pass from Odom
    - 3 pointer by Kobe, late uncontested run by Barbosa
    - Turnaround fadeaway by Kobe, no contest, looked J-Rich slipped up

    Game 2
    - Mid range jumper, good contest by Hill
    - Layup, Lopez on the switch
    - 3 pointer, runby J-Rich
    - Mid range jumper, contested by Dudley
    - Pump fake turnaround jumper, contested by Hill and Lopez
    - Mid range jumper, lazy contest/face guard by Hill
    - Inside free throw line jumper, face gaurd by Dudley
    - Great cross by Kobe for the jumper

    Game 3
    - Turnaround fadeaway jumper, contested by Lopez
    - Mid range jumper, contested by Hill
    - Fakes out Lopez, layup
    - 3 pointer, hand down man down Hill
    - Mid range jumper, contested by Dudley
    - Tough fallaway jumper, contested by Amar'e
    - Mid range jumper, poor contest by Frye
    - Rebound, fake out of Lopez, layup
    - Switch on Nash, Mid range jumper after running into the screener Gasol
    - 3 pointer, made it on a switch on Nash, Nash contests though
    - Switch barbosa, drives, hits jumper, contested by Frye
    - Bad defense by the suns, Kobe finds away to drive it to the basket

    Game 4
    - Mid range jumper, contested by Amundson
    - Mid range jumper, contested by Amundson
    - 3 pointer, contested by Amundson
    - 3 pointer, no contest by Amundson, stand his ground
    - Mid range jumper, contest by J-Rich
    - 3 pointer, no contest, bad D by J-Rich
    - Pull up jumper, late face guard contest by Hill
    - 3 pointer, switch on Nash, no chance for Nash there
    - 3 pointer, run by Amar'e
    - Pull up jumper, lazy/no contest by Frye
    - Basline fadeaway, nothing you can do there
    - 3 pointer, lazy defense on Dudley, should have contested it better
    - Switch on Nash, draws foul, jumper, and 1
    - Layup, good move by Kobe
    - Pull up jumper, no contest

    Game 5
    - Jumper, contest by J-Rich
    - Mid range jumper, great contest by Dragic
    - 3 pointer, close out by Barbosa
    - Runs into triple team, pull up 3 pointer, no contest

    Game 6
    - Mid range jumper, contested by Hill
    - Drives, draws foul, tough runner, and 1
    - 3 pointer, contested by J-Rich
    - Mid range jumper, contest by Amar'e

    - Mid range jumper, of the screen, no contest by Amar'e on the recover
    - Mid range jumper, great contest by Dudley
    - Fadeaway jumper, contested by Dudley
    - Basline fadeaway, that's pretty much unguardable, contested by Frye
    - Tough mid range jumper, contested by Frye and Dudley
    - Double team comes, turns hits jumper, over contested Hill and Frye
    - Jumper on Hill, ridiculously difficult, great contest by Hill

    All this for:

    33.7pts 7.2reb 8.3ast 52%fg

To me, the Suns actually played him pretty damn well. Just Kobe being Kobe

It's tough to decide which playoff run was better: 09 or 10.

    09 was better

    30/5/6 on 56 TS%
    32/6/7 Finals
    34/6/6 WCF

2008 was also better than his 10 run

I'd take 10 over 08 just because he got it done in the Finals.
