Jeez, New York really didn't think they could just get Melo in free agency? I thought New Jersey already gave up, so they were outta the picture which probably means his other option would be to sign the extension in Denver...and I'm sure the fans already don't want him there anymore anyway...

So it's basically Melo and Billups for Wilson, Gallo, Felton and 3 picks(only one of which was their own).

And Mozgov might turn into a solid center but we'll see...

No Melo was going to the Nets if Knicks wouldn't trade. We have went over this for a while now.

You guys realize Billups will be going back to Denver right? He already said immediately if traded he's demanding a buyout and will be returning to Denver where he was raised. So Knicks fans shouldn't be too excited. They gave up way too much depth for Melo. I think Denver got the better end of this deal especially because all the talent hey got is young and filled with potential. Mozgov has potential to be a very good Center. I have a feeling in 2-3 years NY will regret this trade very much. Now they have an entire team built around 2 players that need 15-20 shots a game and want to be the guy.

Billups and Williams will fit right in. I like Williams' upside and now New York will just have to focus on getting another big, while the pieces for a FA point guard will fall right into place in 2012. You're talking about a team consisting possibly of Paul/Williams, Stoudemire, Anthony, Fields and a credible big man.

I'm excited, getting Stat has been great because despite being a flawed team we got a go to guy. Now, we have two so while I'm not sure how well it'll work out, the potential is there. I kind of hoped we'd just get Melo in the offseason, but at least we got him.
