It's the big bad MEDIA DAY and we've got tons of stories, so we're LIN-KING!

FABULOUS!!!

Bod Ryan with a G-Money feature.

Pauk Pierce is still here.
A quote I would like to draw everyone's attention to:
“Always, as a player in my position, you want more veteran presence,” said Pierce, who said he has recovered from minor offseason elbow surgery. “It helps me to do my job better, but hopefully with the addition of Theo, and guys like (Wally Szczerbiak) and (Brian Scalabrine), we’ll get enough of that this year.”
Parenthesis are used to sub in a person's name when they are referred to in a quote and the actual term used may not be matched to the player referred to. So I wonder, what did Pierce call them? Wounded Knee and Waltah Part Fat? Ok, that wasn't particularly funny and pretty negative...just compensating for the gallons of Kool-Aid these links are about to have us swallowing.

Oh, and P feels old.

Al's new weight (again) and the triumphant return of Michael Olowakandi.

Perk and Bassy guarantee the playoffs.

Michael Olowakandi looks like a homeless man.
There, I said it. And no, I have no regrets.

I feel like I'm linking to "Spare Change" newspaper.

Seriously, this is excessive.
My favorite quote comes via Kendrick Perkins:
"I was surprised to see him," said Kendrick Perkins. "But he's talented, he knows the game, and he's a very smart player. Plus, he got his hair cut."
One of the three best things Perk could think of to say ("he's a smart player" and "he knows the game" are basically the same thing) was that Kandi got his hair cut. No mention of his offensive skills or defensive presence, rebounding, etc., whatsoever. Well, at least he isn't Brian Scalibrine. If this guy gets anything above the vet minimum for 2 seasons Danny can just go ahead and fire himself.

Delonte West for Pre-i-dent!

Hopefully Delonte can whup them all into shape.

If you spend more than 15 minutes looking at this gallery late at night, you may be...
Uh, actually, nevermind. there's nothing wrong with that.

Kool-Aid.

Tony can jump again...
Someone is going to have to be traded this season.

Togo!

Tommy likes Rondo.
(Of course, Tommy likes everyone.)

"Practice? We talkin 'bout practice?"
Ok, that's not funny any more. I apologize.

Delonte lives in his mother's basement.
Noone is cooler than Delonte West. Noone.

Tony is so back.
(Scroll down in the link)
If we can ever get him playing smart we've got a low-tier star. Anyone else like the idea of him starting and Wally coming off the bench? Delonte or Bassy, Wally, and Ryan with Theo at PF and C should be the best bench in the Atlantic, while Tony at SG us at least one good perimeter defender in the starting unit.

Rheo VS. Perk.

I'm a mod?

Oh, hey, I am. And now I'm not allowed to curse people out anymore...hmm. Alright.

Dana Barros likes Rajon Rondo.

Cool and all, but there is absolutely no way that Doc should let Delonte become the "odd man out." Delonte West absolutely must get pt. He's easily one of the team's 4, maybe even three, best players.

I hate smallball.

I kind of like Smallball if it makes the team RUN for fast breaks, it's kind of lame though if we are facing the Rockets and Doc put's Wally on Yao...

BTW, GB, you should sticky this thread(Thread tools at the top, then click edit thread)

I could, but it doesn't seem so necessary. If we ever get more traffic I might.

We're now holding hands.

We are now beating the issues of Al's weight loss and undiagnosed ankle problems to death.
Attention Boston Sports Media: This is no longer news, please move on.

Theo Ratliff sounds useful.

Delonte's finally back.
And reportedly looked good. So far in practice, Paul Pierce (no surprise), Wally Z (not surprising either), Tony Allen and Ryan Gomes have looked the best, and Al Jefferson has had, in Doc's opinion, the two best days of his career. On a sidenote, Ronnie Lott spoke to the team and Paul Pierce wouldn't let them cut a finger off so that he can continue playing.

Preseason starts today vs. Cleveland.
Finally, we get a little bit of action. Main things to watch for are the following position battles: Sebastian Telfair vs. Rajon Rondo vs. Delonte West for PG spots (both starting as well as 2nd-string) with West having the advantage of being the incumbent but the disadvantage of coming off a minor back injury. Ryan Gomes vs. Al Jefferson for starting PF, and Theo Ratliff vs, Kendrick Perkins for starting center. There is a small chance that Tony Allen starts instead of Wally Szczerbiak but that would be for strategic purposes not related to who the overall better player is (that would be Szczerbiak).

Doc wants to see some expletive.

A small glass of cold water to our collective faces.
Still, Rajon Rondo did well, Gerald Green did well, Tony Allen looked ok, Sebastian Telfair was alright (although he had too many turnovers), the young bigs did well, and Michael Olowakandi played like a man that had no guarantees. On the downside, Delonte West's back is still sore, and we have no idea what to do with Brian Scalibrine.

More on Gerald Green.
Doc Rivers needs to find the young man some minutes.

More links probably to come later, because the Globe's website has yet to put up today's Celtic coverage.

Kendrick Perkins is ready.
I love how he lays down the law:

``I shouldn't average no less than eight rebounds a game, and I think I should average at least two blocks a game. That should go for me and Theo. Every game, we should at least come out with 20 or more rebounds between the both of us."
The days of Mark Blount are over, folks. New sheriff in town.

There's a starting frontcourt poll on Celtics.com
