It's hard to say who has a better pumpfake because as long as they get the person in the air then its good. I think it should be judged about who does it more. In that case I see Wade doing it 2-3 times a game and I see Pierce doing it 2-3 times a game as well, same with Kobe, so I don't think theres a right or wrong answer.

3 pages into a pump fake thread and no one has mentioned Dirk? Dirks pump is better than kobes for a simple reason. Hes a better shooter than kobe. There are others who shoot better than dirk but dont use the pump as much or as effectively but its hard to argue anyone is better at the pump fake than dirk.

I don't think it is Kobe actually pump fake that gets defenders jumping. I think is his abillity to score from anywhere on the floor and pull up on a dime that gets defenders off their feet Kobe just has a high enough IQ to pump fake and get himself to the line. Like watching in on the TV i wouldnt bit on it from a watching tv stand point.

I truely think that Sam Young has the best/greatest pump fake of all time in the NBA. He truely sells it full extension and even gets on his tippy toes. Gets so many defenders in the air, he just doesnt have the IQ to lean into them yet.

The reason Kobe has the best pump fake in the game is because when the defender bites on it, he makes the shot and gets the and 1. But just as important, when the defender doesn't bite, he still rises up and makes the shot more than anyone else in the league, especially in clutch situations. Here's another example of that:
