Its not hard. The Lakers can win without Kobe playing well, but not without Pau playing well.

Kobe is definitely a better player, but Gasol is definitely arguably the most important player on the Lakers in terms of winning.

Its incredible the level he has achieved. He is just a total player. He can do everything a big man is supposed to do. He can pass the ball extremely well, rebound, his offensive post moves are just amazing, he gets better every year rebounding and his defence has improved so much that I would even say he is a great defender

Howard is more a physical presence and I always have the feeling that the stats lots of times, show more than his real impact in a match.

Give Gasol the ball and he always produces something. Its incredible how fluid and smart the Lakers game is when he is on court

I think he's shown a few problems when defending and rebounding,
against deadeye shooting guards and small forwards who are 7ft tall.
