Some of these Marv and Walton ones, some of you guys are mistaking Cliche' phrases with SIGNATURE, trademark phrases.
For example, a cliche' phrase is the following: "The most dangerous man on the inbounds pass is the inbounder
Signature phrase = [Insert player name here] is a dark horse all-star (Clyde Drexler apparently uses this every game according to Clutchfans).
We know what cliche means, we're just having some fun.

"We just need to play our game."
1 in 2 chance this will be the response to "What do you think your team needs to do to win tonight?" Conversely, also used in justification after a win. "Yeah, well, we just played our game and executed our plays."

Re: Most cliche phrases in NBA?
since we strayed from the topic to talk about signature quotes...gotta quote one my favorite play-by-play announcers
the first to coin the terms "slam dunk," "no harm, no foul," and "air ball"
and my fav.
"This game's in the refrigerator: the door is closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard, and the Jell-O's jigglin'!"

Re: Most cliche phrases in NBA?
Oh I just thought of one. When a Superstar was relatively held in check for a game, and his team loses, in the interview that proceeds shortly thereafter, the player who was seen as having stopped that opposing star player will respond with the following phrase, no less than 66% of the time:
"Well, it was a team effort. You can't stop Player X, but if we help each other on defense, we can contain him."
Unless the interviewee is Ron Artest...

Mark Jackson drinking game.
There's also some good stuff in the comments for other announcers.
