reminds me of the dunk shannon brown had these past playoffs. and mag- i see you're a newcomer, trust me, there have been many, many best dunks ever threads. if we had a search function they'd be easier to find.

at Byron holding the ball cuz the rim was still shaking and the commentators saying Magic could really do it all just cuz he stopped it.

Byron Scott is one of the most underrated athletes to ever play in the NBA. He could really run the floor and jump out of the gym. Also keep in mind he was only about 6'2" or 6'3".

This is indeed quite a facial. What I've picked up over the years is the sweeping generalization that announcers appeared to not get nearly as hyped over violent dunks and/facials back then.

Now to use an extremely limited scope to prove my point:

Even after seeing him get up like that in so many highlight reels, I still find it hard to believe that Byron Scott can jump like that. Two years ago, I didn't even know that he used to play before.

That was a nice pass by Michael Copper to Bryon Scott. I think Byron Scott was the Los Angeles Lakers leading scorer in 1988.

It sucks that he never played in an All Star Game despite being a solid role player for the Showtime Lakers.

That's correct he averaged 21.7 ppg(12th in the league) which was 2 ppg higher than James Worthy who was second with 19.6 ppg. Scott shot 52.7%(19th in the league. His 85.8 FT% was also 20th in the league and he was 12th with 1.9 spg.

That's quite an accomplishment being the leading scorer on a championship team.

I can't believe he didn't make the all-star team in 1988. He was a very athletic combo guard who could finish at the rim, was great on the fastbreak and he was a great 3 point shooter.
