I hate how props seemed to have dominated everybody attention at slam dunk contests. I mean, not necessarily in the first round, but everybody uses props.....I don't mind the 12 foot rim one, that was great, but jumping over somebody again and again, even if it is howard. I want to see the most difficult, insane style dunks.

My dream dunks would be a Erving 'Rock the baby', Richardson's off the board between the legs, and of course Carter's between the legs 360, and his 360 windmill jam.

ESPN's list isn't bad which is a pleasent surprise. I think it also shows how weak and unimpressive the dunk contest was in the mid-late 90s. Lack of creative dunks, very repititive and not a lot of competition for the winners. Isaiah Rider's "East Bay Dunk Funk" was spectacular. I'm glad that made the list. If I'm not mistaken, Barkely called that the greatest dunk he's ever seen. VC's 360 should definitely be #1. That was a great dunk contest with Francis and McGrady doing some nice dunks, one of my favorite moments along with the Jordan-'Nique duel.

if they labeled this "top 10 slam dunk contest dunks" then I would agree

    but they labeled this "moments"...

and the VC 360 pales in comparison to the 4 behind it...

your avatar was the greatest dunk contest "MOMENT" in the history of the dunk contest...no question about it...

that is the most well known dunk ever...PERIOD...it was a moment in NBA history that no one will ever forget if you were around to see it...

the list fails at #1 IMO...

You need to remember that there wasn't a dunk comp from '96 until Vince did his thing

VC 360 was so freaking ridicolous, I want to see Rudy Gay try it.

Everyone would like Michael's freethrow line dunk to be No.1. I believe.

If it is about Slam dunk contest moments it would have to Darrell Armstrong in 1996 with a lay-up! Damn it was very funny!

1 and 2 should be Vince Carters under leg dunk and 360 windmill.

and the top slam dunk contest moment hands down is the Jordan free throw line dunk...

when I was growing up every single kid I knew had a poster of that dunk on their wall...

there was no that didn't know about that dunk...even mothers that don't watch the NBA knew about that dunk...

plus the dunk contest was 100x more popular back then...today it is an after thought...

    2 should be Webb IMO

    3 should be Domonique

    4 should be Dr. J

then throw in Carter at 5

JMO...based on how popular they were

How tha **** is Jordan's dunk more impressive than Carter's 360 reverse windmill?? People were jumping off their seats and their eyes were popping out...and both of Jordan's dunks from inside the line were overrated...How tha **** u gon give him a 50 for the same dunk second year in a row?? Thats just plain bull****...So who ever dunks from the line should get 50 right?? Only Jordan got that ****...Why? Because, Stern is RETARDED!!! So don't come in here with that bull**** comment...BTW
Carter>>>>>>>>>>Jordan when it comes to dunking...

Remember when Rudy done this? I can definitly see him putting a spin in there. He's got the length, he's got the height on his jump and there is no doubt that, that was a full windmill, not half a windmill that some guys seem to do.

Learn to read, before acting all "stars" on one....
and primetime is right, it's about the moments, not the dunks itself.
Of course the Carter dunk was much more ridiculous.
