Safest bet in professional sports right now: Josh Smith will clear waivers in 48 hours and have the right to go elsewhere as a free agent

Give props to Stan Van Gundy for this one.

Dude is a cancer and he got rid of him, at a really steep price I may add.

My sauces tell me Van Gundy tried to trade him but no trade buddies appeared.

Next player to go to China. Book it. No NBA team will actually sign this guy. Might as well sign to that team that has Blatche and Jordan Crawford.

Balls to the wall move, and a necessary one.

Is he good? Can Cavs get him?

Sign him and ban him from taking shots outside of 10 feet within the basket.

yep. Unfortunately he gave him about 15 games too many, but I can only guess he was trying to develop some trade interest. Oh well, **** that dude, glad hes gone. Now lets see if MIL will re-do the jennings/knight and middleton trade.... ha

Pistons will use stretch provision on remaining $26 million of Josh Smith's contract, league source tells Yahoo. This gives some cap relief.

A team will definitely pick him up. Dude knows, or should know, that his stock is at the lowest of his career, so he'll accept whatever job comes at him even at a low cost. Detroit still owes him big money anyways.

My bet is that he goes to the Kings or Heat.

Smith should have plenty of suitors in free agency. Sacramento's made a run at him before. Keep an eye on Dallas: Smith is close with Rondo.

The #Pistons have been 12.3 points per 100 possessions better with Josh Smith off the floor this season: http://gaedel.me/GimB5

Hope the Spurs stay far away from him, but I think we'll see rumors of their interest (due partly to Kawhi's injuries)
