He's played 4 or 5 games. So he's not deserving or near the conversation. He'll still have played only 50 games by the end of the year. Nothing wrong with saying he missed too missed games and shouldn't make it. He most certainly is not going to merit 1st Team based on 50 games and how he plays at his best. Not at all.

There's probably literally dozens of guards playing better defense than Kobe this year. 3/4 of the All-Defense guard spots right now should be reserved for Tony Allen, Sefolosha, and Iguodala, and Kobe's not the fourth....not even close.

This. Kobe shouldn't be on any All Defense team. He loses track of his man ball-watching and as an on-ball defender he is not as good as the guys you listed.

I dunno, the media seem to be ****ing retards so who knows if he will make it. Kobe is the most overrated defensive player of all time. He postures up on an opponent and everyone thinks he's this big shit defender...except for the fact that he over pressures his opponent almost every time and lets him get by him regularly. Kobe has gotten all these 1st team all defensive nods because he postures up and it seems like great defense. It's pathetic because he over pressures regular and lets his man get by him regularly.
