Or to use ISH lingo, Pau has taken a team to the playoffs as "the man" more times than Kobe has.
Pau is 0-12 in the playoffs without Kobe.

There is a lot more to the game than scoring, as Kobe from 04-07 found out in his 3 season stretch in his prime that produced no playoff series wins. His 35 PPG season ended in a first round loss to the suns.

Also his scoring was not super efficient dominant like Durant has. Kobe averaged 45.7% fg and 30 ppg on 23 shots per game for the entire 09 playoffs.

Yea right, shaq had penny to win playoff series in Orlando, Hakeem got lucky because Starks choked in 1994, Lebron played against arenas and the overrated non competitive wizards a few timea his pre Miami years too.

Penny was overrated and later on because of injuries Penny became a terrible player yet pre-prime Shaq still single handedly led Orlando to the ECF after the injuries crippled Penny. Hakeem led a pretty weak cast to a NBA finals victory, which is insane.

PRIME Kobe could not even win a playoff series in the 3 tries he had. In one of the series, he lost to a suns team where Amare was out the entire series.

Young Lebron beat a respectable Detriot team in 2007 by himself. That 2007 Detriot squad was certainly better than a Suns team without Amare.

It's a very simple concept to understand. In 05-07 Kobe had a poor supporting cast, in 08-10 he had a a better supporting cast. In 08-10 when the Lakers were winning playoff series it was still Kobe's team, and there is no questions surrounding that.

    MVP voting
    08 - Kobe 1st, Pau no votes
    09 - Kobe 2nd, Pau no votes
    10 - Kobe 3rd, Pau no votes

In fact, Pau has never recieved a single MVP vote in his career.

    2004: Shaq leaves
    2005: No playoffs
    2006: first round loss
    2007: first round loss:
    2008: NBA Finals
    2009: NBA Championship
    2010: NBA Championship

Something must have happened between 2007 and 2008 to transform them into a pereniel Finalist from first round fodder. Could it have been that Kobe transformed his game?

Nope, his best years were when they lost in the first round.

Gasol is the reason LA became relevant. He will never get the respect he deserves.

Pau has never had that just solid playoff type team. Ever prior to the Lakers. Those Grizzlies rosters were always ran that mediocre brand, just enough to win some games and make a playoff push but never really good enough.

Then look at his opponents. The 04 Spurs, the 05 Suns and and 06 Mavs.

So basically, Peak Duncan and company, peak Nash and pre-injury beast Amare, and a very good all-around Mavs team led by a very good prime Dirk Nowitzki.

    Yeah......no.

In terms of skills/abilities on the court, he is definitely top 50, but he doesn't have the accomplishments to match. He's certainly top 100 though.

Pau has won zero of sixteen playoff games without kobe, 0-16 games. Yes, an impressive jaw-dropping record, soomehow, kobe haters say this is the guy that carried kobe to 3 finals two rings, seems legit...

Lakers were 30-16 before Gasol played a game for the Lakers in 2007-08.
