Wilt scored 42 and grabbed 31 rebounds on the 1961 opener after being MVP

1961 Philadelphia Warriors were playing at a pace of 132.0 possessions per game.
2016 Golden State Warriors play at a pace a little under 100.
In the 1961 opener there were 103 field goals made. In the 2016 season opener tonight there were 76 field goals made.
42 points and 32 rebounds in the amount of possessions that are played in today's game comes out to around 29 points and 22 rebounds.
Steph Curry sat most of the 4th quarter and had 36 minutes played while wilt was playing for 48.
Steph Curry's opening game was better than Wilt's.

Al Attles, Guy Rodgers, etc take less shots if the Warriors of 1961 as a unit played at a lower pace.
Wilt still gets fed. He's reigning MVP and MDE

So even with 30 less possessions, Wilt would of still scored 40 points in that game?

Of course, NBA is not 5 years old, it's really hard to set a new milestone even in the most arbitrary way.

They said it hasn't been done since Kareem did it. That's what I heard Ernie away on Inside the NBA.

Imagine if Curry had 30 more possessions and played 12 more minutes.

No 3-ball though.
