Default Is it time yet to address LeBron's overrated defense?

Without Lebron out there in this whole series, Miami's defense has been horrific. Every time he goes out, they get torched.

If anything, this series is making his defense look better.

    Truly overrated defensively.

I have literally seen him leave guys with ten feet of air space on shots.

Most of Kawhi's points have been when Lebron has not been gaurding him.

Also, in this series Lebron has gaurded Duncan on switches and has denied him the ball or swatted the ball from him numerous times. He's also guarded Parker very well on the ball.

he was on him a lot yesterday, while spo and the heat stupidly left wade on diaw. hell, they even cut to commercial with a replay of kawhi just pulling up in front of lebron for a non-contested 3. lebron literally just looked at him when he shot it, and then put his hand up after the ball was released.

Well Lebron can be a terrific defender, the problem is that when you guard the other teams most aggressive player it puts you in foul jeopardy, so they avoid giving bran those assignments for entire games. Not to mention conserving some energy for the offensive end as well. And furthermore, sometimes you start out guarding on guy and then due to a switch end up on someone else.

But at the end of a game there's no perimeter player Id rather have for one important defensive possession.

Then why is it that the Heat are in the negative the most when LeBron* is in the game?

He's a good defender, but the anybody who says he's the best perimeter defender in the league is full of shit. Iguodala, Leonard, Butler, and Allen are clearly better.

His defense is way overhyped by the media. Some members of the media even said he should have gotten a DPoY award...

Dude he had a legit case for DPOY in 2011 and 2012.

How do you consider Bron's defense overrated but not Kobe's? Who has made some 1st teams on pure rep alone on years where he gave little effort on that end.

His defense can be over hyped. Particularly his on ball defense but as a rotations guy he's always been pretty good. And when locked in he's good on ball as well.
