Guy is going to be a lot better, and will go higher then the 4th pick.

I've never even heard of Greg Monroe. He'll probably drop to late first round by next year I'm guessing.

Didn't say he would definitely. All I was trying to point out was that they're not some sort of spectacular stats. Chances are he likely will drop, though. Am I wrong?

We beat Greg Monroe's Hellen Cox team. He isn't all what you guys think, for AAU instead of playing up with the big dogs he played down in his division.

Well, mock drafts like this are obviously not reliable at all. After all, you're unable to know who is going to participate in the draft, especially for international players.

Well, dudes, I don't see Rubio to be the top pick in 2009, and I even doubt he will be present in the 2009 Draft. As some of you have said, big men are usually selected first, even if the stats of other players are better, because they could dominate if their evolution. Sometimes it doesn't work, but GMs still prefer this situation. Best example is Darko Milicic, pick #2 over people like Anthony or Wade!!!
However, Rubio could be a very good NBA player, he has a lot of deffensive skills, and can score and assist, so I would bet a very high position when he will appear in the draft. I have seen him a lot playing in ACB and EuroLeague and he is fantastic.
There is another spanish player in the Nbadraft list, estimated pick #9, he is Victor Claver from Pamesa Valencia, a SF 6.9 feet, 18 year-old. He has been the greatest surprise during the ACB playoffs, his team played versus R.Madrid in the first round and he was able to score 18 in the second match. I don't really expect him to be a top ten pick but he has skills and can improve a lot in the next two seasons, so a top 15-20 seems reasonable, better if he increase his strength (he is very thin).

    Some plays by Claver:

Looks like Greg Oden is not the savior of the NBA, we might as well see the coming prospect in the 2009 NBA Draft.

    3. Al-Farouq Aminu 6-9 210 SF WF HSSr.

    Birthday:9/21/1990
    NBA Postion:SF/PF
    Class:HS Senior
    Ht:6-9
    Wt:210
    College Team:Wake Forest
    Hometown:Norcross, GA
    High School:Norcross

Al-Farouq Aminu is regarded by many (ourselves included) to be the top small forward prospect the class of 2008 has to offer. He has the ball handling of a guard with the body of a power forward. Aminu’s shooting range extends beyond the three point line, while he has even shown an emerging pullup jumper from midrange. The 6-foot-9 forward is an adept passer for either forward position, as his natural feel for the game generally allows him to see things on the floor before they happen.

“Farouq” possesses great size for a small forward prospect, with an outstanding wingspan to add. He is able to alter shots on the defensive end via his length and excellent timing, while showing the ability to stay out of foul trouble. His man to man defense on the perimeter could be improved upon, but we are looking at a player only 16 years of age, so there is plenty of time for development.

The most glaring weakness in Aminu’s game is his lack of post move. When receiving the ball down on the blocks, there are times when the Georgia big man looks a bit lost. He often reverts to a turnaround jumper out of the post, not fully utilizing the height advantage that he has over smaller defenders.

Wake Forest are one the four finalists for Aminu with all put Georgia Tech recruiting him as a combo forward. With improved strength and low post moves, there is no question why Aminu couldn’t wind up being a Marvin Williams type combo forward in a few years. He already owns superior perimeter skills in comparison to the current Atlanta Hawk forward in his high school days, and could eventually become a full-time small forward if he decides that is what fits his skill set best. Either way, we are looking at an incredibly skilled forward who is going to come in and make an impact upon whatever college he attends from the day he steps foot on campus.-
