If you ask me, I'd rather take Greg Anthony & Tim Legler talking sense rather than Bill Walton & Stephen A. screaming out of their lungs at each other. Stephen A. Smith needs to be fired at once, he's bringing down ESPN.

Definitely agree with you here. Maybe Anthony and Legler were too bland for people's tastes or were disliked for whatever reasons, but they talked basketball pretty well. Stephen A. Smith and Bill Walton just isn't a good combo IMO

Or it could be that when people see them they have no idea what they have to do with basketball. With Smith and Walton, you get a loud abrasive black man whose usually wrong and a white man who no one can decide is right or wrong because no one has a clue what he's talking about 90% of the time. I'm not sure if that's easier to connect with, but they leave an impression (unfortunately it's usually a bad one).
