I'm not a huge fan of D'Antoni either, but I think the team will respond well. Both Kobe and Nash like the guy. Pau will love not having to hustle inside and Howard will absolutely love it.

6onna laugh at all the people on here clowning when the Lakers are running their teams off the floor by 40. This is the one guy I felt was capable of making this team hit their offensive potential. They are going to be unguardable.

They'll probably respond well, but it's not he's not winning a championship with his coaching style, period.
They just did a complete 180. They went from a defensive minded coach (which ironically they were having defensive troubles anyway) to a coach that doesn't teach defense at all.

The problem with the Lakers wasn't their offensive, it was their defense.

Phil wanted crazy money, personnel control and didn't want to travel to many road games. It was never going to work.

Knicks were the 5th best defensive team last year. D'Antoni's teams typically never had proper defensive personnel. Made a huge jump when they acquired Chandler

Based on what? Suns didn't have many talented defenders and were still 13 to 15 rank every year in defensive efficiency. Knicks top 10. Now he has Dwight anchoring his D.

Dude would get to coach a team with Kobe, D12, Pau, and Nash. What more do you want?
