Default Pau Gasol is a top 50 player of all-time

Guy led the Lakers to a title in 2010 and was then robbed of Finals MVP. His skillset and talent is amazing. He is probably the most underrated player of all-time.

You're a piece of shit scumbag troll loser, but Pau is a legend for what he's done both in the NBA and internationally and is higher than top 50, in my opinion.

In the NBA? Possibly. His playoff loses with the Grizzlies and this past season's playoff sweep hurt his legacy though. However, the fact that he was the man for Team Spain in 08 and 12 and was only stopped by the ridiculously stacked Team USA says worlds about how great he is.

He is one of the 50 greatest players to play the game, that's how it's possible.

In his prime, Pau was a terrific all-around player.

Problem is though, his prime was very short. In Memphis, he became lethargic and uninterested at the end of his tenure because of the futility of the team around him.

He was rejuvinated by the trade to the Lakers, and as OP mentioned was the most vital piece on two championship teams.

But after a few seasons, playing with selfish, me-first, me-star, me-hero Kobe took its inevitably toll, as it had previously on Shaq, and as it did on Bynum, and ultimately would on Howard, so he just kind of half assed it again like he did when he was unhappy in Memphis.

Pau is a very talented guy but the fact is he's a sulker. When he's not happy, he throws in the towel. Mind you, he was justifiably unhappy, but still could have played harder through it.

Those periods of decreased intensity definitely diminish him a bit when you start comparing him with other elite players.
