MJ was the greatest player during the 90's but not 80's. The media has done a great job making people like you believe MJ was the best player in the world once he first entered the NBA in '84 until the time he left the NBA in '98.

Jordan was great in the 80's. One hell of a scorer, but he was not such a good shooter and defender as in the 90's

and alex english scored more points than anyone else during the 80s, considered the greatest decade in NBA history. he should be highter on the list.
