It appears the convention is not helping Mitt enough and you have to go back to Bob Dole to find a convention speech that helped the candidate less.

Romney post-convention bump looks modest at best

The folks at Gallup have completed their post-GOP convention polling duties, and the reviews are not complimentary. Mitt Romney has enjoyed little or no post-convention bump, and his acceptance speech was rated excellent or good by just 38 percent of those who saw it.

While that may not sound terrible, Gallup reports that it is easily the worst rating given to any of the last eight convention acceptance speeches.

I think it was a brilliant move to let Clinton take the main speech on the next to last day instead of going to Biden as tradition normally dictates.

Biden will speak just before Obama on the last day which should minimize the impact of any gaffs he could have.

I'm guessing the Dems will make a heavy push to remind people what it was like when Clinton was in office.

Joe Biden provided a glimpse of what we'll see at the convention when he repeated his "bumper sticker" line:

If you want to know whether we're better off, I got a bumper sticker for you: Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!"
The RNC in Charlotte is holding a counter-convention at NASCAR plaza.

Didn't know they were doing that. Just saw one article where they think that Clinton will point out the Romney is lying about Obama and Welfare in his recent ads.

Clinton and Obama are probably the two best politicians of our time. Karl Rove is probably the greatest political mind of our time.

There was a big festival downtown yesterday that got completely ruined by torrential rain and dangerous lightning. James Taylor sang one song and called it quits, lol. The Gods are angry, angry I tell you.

You're only naming Republican politicians. Let's be fair, Obama had only 2 months of experience in office prior to being elected. Being a good politician is someone who can be more of a centrist and not as divisive as this administration has been. Reading from a teleprompter all the time doesn't help either. But let's speak truth here, there are far better Democrats than him.
