Don't listen to these people yammering about specs.. Comparing PC specs to Mac specs is apples to oranges. Windows 10 tends to be more power hungry.

but in general buying a 5 year old laptop is not smart. Especially for 1k. You can find a better deal.

I think the Macbook/Air/Pro/ etc are nice but I only use my laptop for browsing and typing homework. It'll make no sense to spend that much unless however I have that kind of budget. IOS makes me want the laptop even more.

What are you using it for? If you are using for just for web browsing and office productivity, you can just spend $600-800 on a Windows laptop. $1,400 is way too much.

Unless you are one of those people that likes to waste money and show off the glowing Apple logo.
