What are the chances Miami Heat Three-peat?
Currently only 3 NBA teams ever Three-peat a total of 5 times (Lakers,Celtics and Bulls, franchises with very rich histories). An NBA team capable of doing so is a very dominant team, and the teams able to Three-peat have a sort of mystique shrouding their legacy.
They are:
NBA Finals (National Basketball Association):
1952–54 Minneapolis Lakers
1959–66 Boston Celtics (eight-peat)
1991–93 Chicago Bulls
1996–98 Chicago Bulls
2000–02 Los Angeles Lakers
Fun fact:
Three-peat is a contraction of the words three and repeat, which has been trademarked for commercial use by retired basketball coach Pat Riley; the active trademarks in force are registered under numbers 1552980, 1878690, and 1886018. (A fourth registration, #1977620, expired in 2003.) It is used either as a verb or noun used in American sports to refer to winning a third championship in a row.

I'd say there's a solid 90% chance they do barring any injuries to key players.

I'd say they're in with a chance, though it's not nearly as given as it was last year. There's lots of good teams this year. Can't wait.

Re: What are the chances Miami Heat Three-peat?
They always seem to dominate the West. So its all based on if they can reach the finals.
Last year, only the Pacers stood a chance of taking them out before the Finals.
This year, I believe 3 teams exist that can take out the Heat. Pacers/Nets/Bulls. But will they play all 3? or even 2 of them? They will have to face one of them for sure.
So i'd say they have a 95% of 3peating if they face only 1 elite east team.
75% if having to face 2 elite east teams.
then 70% if having to face all 3 (which is unlikely because i doubt one of them will be an 8th seed)

I'd say 30%.
They are the favorites, but Wade and Bosh didn't look that great this year, they haven't gotten any new players in the off season, and there are a lot of other teams that got better.

Very good chance.
The NBA def wants Miami in the Finals, and will make the most money if they win.
So since the NBA is a business, my assumption is the Heat will win it again next year.

It is all about Dwades health. If wade can show up in ECF and the NBA finals, The title is locked. Bosh needs to play PF and beast

They are still the favorites, but every year they ll struggle more and more due Wade decline mostly.

Re: What are the chances Miami Heat Three-peat?
We need to use Bosh more in the pick and roll, and actually get him to go towards the basket.
His role in Miami has actually caused him to decline as a player. He has no interest in attacking the hoop these days. And he should, since he has the first step and quickness to beat just about any big man to the hoop.
If Lebron and Bosh can set up a nice one-two game, then it'd increase our chances.

LBJ is still in his prime, but Wade clearly isn't. If they manage Wade's minutes well during the regular season, and if his knees don't continue deteriorating, then I'd say a 60% chance is fair

If healthly? they are clear favourites. They have the best player in the world in his prime so they will be favourites as long as they have him in top form.

Still has to be the the favorite because team's intact mostly and Lebron still at the height of his power, but it's obviously getting tougher by the year.
To me it rests on that if they can get a servicable big man, they can't keep getting pounded on year after year
