People also seem to forget that a healthy Rubio + Love + Pek themselves are good enough to be an 8th seed. The Wolves started out 3-7 with Rubio coming off the bench last year and then went out and compiled an 18-13 (47 wins in an 82 game season.) and did this with a supporting cast full of extremely negative players in Beasley, Wesley Johnson, Dorko, Webster.

This off season we've gotten rid of all those negative players and replaced them with much superior players in AK47, Roy, Shved (wildcard but more suited to be a 2 guard then Ridnour or Barea), Chase, Steimsma (his passion for the game and hustle alone makes him better then a constantly lazy and sulking Dorko.) 50 wins is not out of the question at all but getting to that level would require Brandon Roy to play at a high level. Rubio also won't miss anywhere close to 40 games.

damn. i loved seeing denver at 3 until i saw minnesota at 4. means that list is pretty much garbage.

3rd seed woulda been nice though :)

It will depend on chemistry a little, but the Mavs should win over 45 games. I really hope that 38 win mark is way off.

Denver and Minnesota will be good this year, but no way either of those teams make it into the top 4. I see Minny 7th And Denver 6th.

And why the f*ck is everyone underrating Memphis. They are easily a top 5 team in the West.

If I was to make my own list, it would go something like:

    1) OKC
    2) LAL
    3) SAS
    4) LAC
    5) MEM
    6) DEN
    7) MIN
    8) DAL

Let's be real. Lakers are going to wipe the floor with the rest of the conference.
This writer is smoking that dope. Nuggets and Wolves are way too high, Spurs continue to be disrespected and Phoenix is no shape or form will be the worst team in the West. That honour will go to the Rockets who have a bunch of rookies and back ups playing for them.

I don't think people realize that outside of the 98 lockout year where they played 50 games, the spurs haven't had a single season in which they won less than 50 games in the Duncan era, not even last season in which it was a 68 game season

not even a clippers fan (sure you know), but ya, #6 is perplexing to me. they're #5 at worst and very likely top 4. that said, it doesn't help that cp3 got hurt and will miss most of training camp. with blake on the mend, i thought they would really take a leap forward with their chemistry and PNR game. they're still going to take a step forward but i'm not sure they'll be the best PNR duo i thought they'd be next season.

i'm interested in seeing how memphis does because i really was not that impressed with gay's playoff games. the way he ran fast breaks, the way he tried to finish in traffic without success and just his overall decision making in general was...pretty bad.

denver is still in around 5/6 to me. i like what they have going on but gallo needs to stay healthy. they have depth which obviously keeps them in ball games and a decent size advantage over most teams. guys like chandler need to be more consistent...that way they hit you in waves. no real drop off and multiple ways to hurt you. i could see them making a run similar to memphis from a couple seasons ago.
