If *insert player* improves his *insert need* he'll be an elite NBA player

Essentially, what does a particular player just on the outskirts of elite need to improve on to hit that mark

"If Dwight Howard improves his pick and roll offense and free throw shooting, he'll definitely be an ELITE NBA player. "

The lack of fluidity in his post moves really tells me that he wont be too lethal from there. but if he really learns to catch the ball(and not turn it over) in a high pick and roll, and roll hard to the basket, he certainly can be mentioned with other elite centers all time. Its really his lack of a go to offense that keeps him out of those discussions. His defense however, has always been on point. even post back surgery.

But as far as stretching the floor a bit with a reliable 15 footer? i dont see him ever adding that to his game. at least not on a consistent basis.

Aldridge and rebounding. Make him a 12 rebounds per game guy instead of 9 and people would drool all over him.

Very much agreed. offensively, hes pretty damn proficient. but with double digit rebounding, hed definitely be in more talks in regards to being a top PF currently in the game.

If Kendrick Perkins improves in every facet of the game, he'll be a good Center.

If Steph Curry can stay healthy, he'll be an elite NBA player.

Definitely. I read Stotts mention somewhere that with Lopez instead of Hickson playing C, Aldridge will be able to focus more on rebounding instead of defending both PF's and C's.

I disagree. Three more rebounds per game won't make him an elite player.

If he learned to play defense like KG.. then we could talk.
