Are People Certain There Will Be a "Durant Era"?

I have a hard time seeing the league wanting to make this guy the face of the NBA. No personality, plays for a small market team, and arguably the second most important player on his team. Don't get me wrong, he is definitely the 2nd best player in the league. But the guy is just missing something. Hoping someone like Wiggins can be the guy to takeover when LeBron is done being the best player in the NBA.

Do you think Dwight stays in LA?

2nd best player in the league? 2nd round exit with 1 game won.

Yes, he did. It was called "When Is Durant Going to Come Through?" or something like that, and had the exact same premise as this thread. Don't think it was even a week ago. Pretty sure it was just earlier this week. The more often he starts it he more insecure he looks.

That thread was more about people assuming he would win championships and MVPs. This is more about whether they would make him the face of the NBA.

Lebron's shadow will always follow Durant. He could win a chip or two when Bron retires, and who know if by that time the league would be ruled by Wiggins of any other player.

Loses only other capable offensive player on his team, has to adjust on the fly while playing one of the best defensive teams in the league. But yeah, sure, can't believe he couldn't get past the Grizzlies with no help.

Insecure about what? The 2nd best player in the league absolutely shit the bed after Westbrook got hurt. Do you really think the league is in a rush to make this guy the face of the NBA?

So, in other words, basically the exact same thread.

I think he will have a brief window there unless Wiggins really is that good from the get go.

in 4-5 years Lebron will be 32-33 sure he will still be good but I doubt he's consensus number 1 at that age. Durant should be in his prime still then so I can see him having a stretch of 2/3 years where he's the undisputed man

the media and former and current players are always more respectful and quicker to praise veterans anyways so the seniority Durant will have at that age will mean hegets more respect then.

How did he shit the bed? He averaged 32-10-6-2-1 without Westbrook. Did LeBron shit the bed in '09? He didn't get consistent help after Westbrook went down.

Was the league in a rush to make LeBron the face of the NBA after he quit on Cleveland and laid a huge egg in game 6 in 2010?

Seriously, how can you not see how stupid you look?

I think he ends up staying, personally. Houston makes more sense. But LA at the end of the day will sell him on endorsements, Hollywood, etc.

OKC is one piece/one good trade away from being insane, so I don't see why not, Durrant should be able to have a year or so where he's #1.
