Heat in 4 straight !
4 of the 5 Lakers starters will poof into dust before the finals even start.
For the first time, I'm interested in watching those two going at it.
Miami are favourites until proven otherwise.
There seems to be a consensus on this thread that Lakers might not even be able to make it to the Finals, and I agree that it will be very tough for the Lakers to get to the Finals. But if it happens, the Lakers match up well against the Heat. Kobe and Howard will beat Lebron silly.
Didnt realize Micky Arison posted here
i hope it's sarcasm from the OP.:biggums:
The Lakers won't get past the second round for the third consecutive year. Bookmark it.
Still giving up to many easy baskets.
Have to beat a couple of proven teams.

nah more like howard and pau will beat miami silly. if they meet in the finals lakers will be a tough match up for miami. memphis and lakers are the toughest match ups i believe. hopefully it's okc that makes it to the western finals lol.
How did OKC make it out the west last year when the Lakers and SA had a better frontline? Teams find ways to adjust. Don't know why people fail to realize that.
Not only did I bet $5,000 that the Lakers will win the championship; I'll leave this forum in shame if LA does not make the finals this season.
Straight up, book mark this page. Since July I've said the Lakers at their best are BY FAR the best and most complete team in this league. If they are healthy come June, I believe they will annihilate everyone Miami included.
Cocky much?
Watch and see boys.

Money!
As it stands, Heat are the favorite, but IMO I'm more worried about teams in the West than I am about the Heat.

OKC had Ibaka, Perkins, Collision. They had plenty of size for defense and rebounding against LA and SA. They just don't have offensive bigs.

Lakers will win the championship if they play up to their potential. It's that simple. There's no team in the league with their combination of star power and balance on the basketball court. The only other team that compares in talent(Miami) has a starting front line of Bosh and Battier.
I think D'Antoni joining the Lakers is exactly why Miami will beat Lakers. Had the Lakers not decided for D'Antoni's system and gone big instead they would have caused Miami a lot more problems. But if you're planning on running with Miami you're just playing their game.
Your Miami Heat just proved to you that Coaches don't win championships. Players do.
All depends on the health of Dywane Wade.
Your Miami Heat just proved to you that Coaches don't win championships. Players do.
No way, a good coach is required. Spo is a good coach, highly underrated. He has to integrate the players Pat gives him. Pat wants a short fast team, and the players to play big. Spo is implementing that as good as anyone could. When the players actually give 100% effort in the playoffs, his defensive schemes work great too.
If great coaches aren't required to win titles, why did the Lakers sack Mike Brown?
Your Miami Heat just proved to you that Coaches don't win championships. Players do.
Since when is Spo a bad coach? Managed two winning seasons where he grabbed the 5th seed at around 45 wins. What did D'Antoni do with a MUCH more talented Knicks squad?

are you suggesting that the gap between lebron and artest is smaller than the gap between kobe and wade?

So now Mike is not a good coach? Also you think Spo is a good coach cause he was told how to play his team by Pat, he's not good enough to come up with a game plan on his own or what?
The Laker's defense is trash. They wont beat Miami.
The OP predicted the Heat to lose every playoff series last season. And the Lakers are overrated. Kobe will be 0-2 playing with 3 other hall of fame teammates by the time the season is over.

I'm saying if you think coaches dont win titles, then just keep Mike Brown.
Pat gave him the personnel, like Buss has given D'antoni his players, like most coaches (bar about Pop) they have to coach what the FO gives them, not many coaches influence the FO heavily. Spo has the game plan and created it, based on the players the FO delivered him.
I dont think you comprehended my post correctly.

Not analyzing, its just a way to show that some players are better than others.

No you don'y get it, Spo sucks, he's not that great. Same reason 37,000 of you wanted Spo fired.

Sucks, man. :(
You call yourself a heat fan? Who have the lakers beat since they fired brown? How many games did they play on the road?

because Mike Brown coaches too much. D'Antoni will allow the players to make more decisions of their own

Hawks 5-4

I'm don't care who is coach. G-Funk is the one saying the coach is irrelevant.

They haven't played good defense but they fix that going into the playoffs. They are the champs been to the finals twice they don't have to prove nothing.
Have the lakers beat a quality or contending team yet this year? Have they even won on the road yet?
