Race to the MVP 2012-13
I thought it would be nice to have a thread discussing this years MVP award...
Who do you guys feel are the top 5/10 players contending for the MVP so far? I will also be posting NBA.com's weekly updated "Race to the MVP" results down here... Current Week: 1. LeBron James 2. Kobe Bryant 3. Kevin Durant 4. Chris Paul 5. Carmelo Anthony 6. Dwyane Wade 7. Russell Westbrook 8. Paul George 9. Ty Lawson 10. James Harden |
Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
There is absolutely no way Tony Parker should be ahead of his teammate Tim Duncan right now.

Race to MVP ladder dudes say: "Arguments that Tim Duncan belong on this list over Parker are valid. Duncan does, after all, lead the Spurs in scoring and rebounding this season and appears to have turned back the clock on his career. But those arguments should be tempered by the fact that even Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has acknowledged that this is Parker's team to carry now. Parker's role here is not diminished at all by a fantastic stretch from Duncan, whose work stands on its own merit." Which i kindof agree with it... Tim Duncan has nicer numbers (which i think he probably wont sustain) but Parker has been the floor general/closer (hit some gamewinner/clutch shots) and is the leader of the team that will sustain his performance and alpha role, its still very close tho and debatable at least so far because Duncan is producing nicely afterall. |
Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
It can be his team offensively all it wants, but Tony isn't playing better on offense and he sure as hell isn't having the type of impact Duncan has on the boards or defense.

Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
Lebrons to lose but If clippers get a top 2-3 seed Paul will have a great shot.

Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
if lakers had a better record, kobe would be def top 5 maybe top 3 in consideration.

Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
LOL at Melo being higher than Kobe.

Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
Chris Paul - 17.0 ppg, 2.2 spg, 10.3 apg, 3.3 rpg, 47% shooting
Kyrie Irving - 24.3 ppg, 1.3 spg, 6.5 apg, 4.1 rpg, 47% shooting And Paul is on everyone's board. One other thing...Kyrie is not throwing lobs to Blake or Deandre, and Jamaal Crawford is not coming off his bench. I love Chris Paul, buy Kyrie made him look silly in the head to head which Cleveland won 108-101. Please don't tell me the Clipps are better - the world knows that. |

- 24 pts on 23 shots (35%) isn't making anyone look silly |
Re: Race to the MVP 2012-13
Kobe has to be at least Top 5.
I could see Chris Paul winning it this year. |

Very long shot.I dont see CP3 winning especially miami division is as weak as it gets so expect miami getting best record in the east and we know at best clippers record will be 3rd.So he will not win it |
